How Can I Increase My Online Sales?

How can I increase my online store sales?

When it comes to sales, it’s a combination of 3 elements.

  1. The right audience
  2. The right EMOTION
  3. The right you

I call this the SALES – MARKETING SYMMETRY (SMS)

To answer the question on “How you can improve your sales”, you have to do what other people are not doing. Stores usually don’t connect with their audience.

People always make an emotional purchase and then justify it with logic. So you will have to help people make that emotional decision.

Let’s take an example of one of the stores I saw.

This was the description for one of the mini bags which looked beautiful.

“*LIMITED EDITION*

This Mini bag is a chic everyday accessory of heirloom quality handcrafted using loom-woven block-printed cotton fabric. It’s perfect for the free-spirited bohemian soul!

Traditional straps are substituted with a knotted rope that can be adjusted to a comfortable length.

To further a more eco-conscious lifestyle that is friendlier to our Mother Earth, our products are made almost entirely from sustainable options. We extensively use archival fabric, remnant textiles, deadstock fabric etc.

Designed and handcrafted with love, by me and my mum in India. 😀

Everything in BOLD is the features your product offers. The last line in italics has a tad bit of emotion associated with it.

To start out with, you can do the following to take people through the buying decision.

  1. Replace all the features with benefits
  2. Tell them how they will feel they are using this product
  3. Make sure you have an attention grabbing headline

I hope this helped.
